What is a Membrane?

There are two kinds of membranes — High Pressure and Low Pressure. They both include different gases, vapors or liquids that selectively move through barriers at different rates. Gas Separation is based on things such as dimensional differences and/or specific interactions.

Membrane materials include Polymers, Metals, Ceramics, Glasses, Carbon, and more — while the typical thickness is about 5-250 microns (or 0.0002 - 0.01 inches).
